The Kerry Group Five Communities

The Kerry Group Five Communities Project is a special collaboration between Samhlaiocht and Kerry Group. Five individual communities are selected every year to take part in the Samhlaiocht Easter Festival Parade.

The Communities work with Artists and Street Entertainers and perform at the parade, the highlight of the Easter Arts Festival.

The Kerry Group Five Community Groups this year are:

Mercy Mounthawk Transition Year
Bursting with creativity and enthusiasm, this group of transition year students have put their artistic
skills to work with a wonderfully free-flowing interpretation of this year’s theme ‘IMAGINATION’.

KDYS Tralee
In the spirit of true community a number of groups from the KDYS have come together to bring a
special sense of excitement to this year’s parade! The commitment of all at the KDYS to youth and
the community shines through!

Free Range Youth Theatre
Free Range Youth Theatre creates a safe space for young people to explore their world using the
medium of drama. Set up, in association with Siamsa Tíre, this group promises to make the streets of
Tralee come alive!

Camp Youth Club
A local youth group established over 35years ago, the club has more than 50 members! This group is
delighted to be involved, for the first time, in this years’ celebrations and the members are dying to
show what they can do!

KDYS Killarney Circus School
"The Circus-Creator"
Various teenage members of the KDYS Killarney Band Project, Circus School and Drop-In are putting
together a spectacular show involving juggling, unicycles, music, drumming, humour, colour and a strange machine!
